Ethocana© is a product of Autocomputing ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use ethocana.ai and the Ethocana workspace, why, who processes it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account details: your email, name, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and two-step sign-in settings.

Your content: the messages you send, the replies you receive, files you upload, and memories you save.

Billing: our payment processor, Stripe, handles your card. We receive your subscription status, invoice records and the last details Stripe shares with merchants. We never see or store your full card number.

Usage and security records: token counts, costs, timings and statuses for each request; sign-in times, IP addresses and browser descriptions for your devices; security events such as failed sign-ins. These records don't contain the text of your messages.

How your messages are processed

Ethocana runs on AI models licensed from a third-party AI model provider. To answer you, we send your message, the relevant part of the conversation, any files you attached, and your saved memories to that provider. When you use Research, search queries and web addresses are sent to the provider's search and page-reading service.

That provider stores and processes data in the People's Republic of China. Under its own terms it may keep what we send for as long as it considers necessary and may use it to improve its models. Please don't send information you aren't comfortable having processed under those conditions.

We send the provider a coded identifier for your account, never your name or email.

Why we use your data

To run the service you asked for; to bill you; to keep accounts and the service secure; to enforce usage limits; and to answer support requests. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use your conversations to train models of our own.

Who else processes it

The AI model provider described above; Stripe for payments; our hosting provider in the United States for servers and storage; and our email service for account messages. Each gets only what it needs for its part.

How long we keep it

Conversations, files and memories stay until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting a conversation deletes its messages and files from our servers. Usage, billing and security records are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax and security, generally up to seven years for billing records. We can't delete copies the AI model provider has already received.

Your choices

In Settings you can export all your conversations and memories, delete any conversation, turn memory off or remove memories, sign out other devices, and delete your account. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as access or correction; write to us and we'll help.

Security

Connections are encrypted. Provider and payment keys stay on our servers and never reach your browser. Passwords are hashed, two-step sign-in is available, and each account can only reach its own records.

Children

Ethocana is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
